Gratitude...Thank you vs. Thanks

What is Gratitude? The quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
Why do we need to be grateful? I really think it is one of greatest attributes from our Father in Heaven. This really is an amazing and beneficial attribute. I didn't understand it til recently! I am so grateful there are tools we can use like Facebook, blogs, etc. to reach all over the world.
Gratitude is part of being polite, having manners, and most of all love. Love is a major part of gratitude, without love for ourselves or others there would be no need for gratitude. Love is the backbone or spine of gratitude. That is a beautiful thing!
What are we grateful for? Now this is a great question! Family, friends, love, church, God, Jesus Christ, children, peace, etc. There are so many things to be grateful for! What are you grateful for? Have you ever made a list? Start with a gratitude journal. Keep a record of what you are grateful for during the day or write at night. You will be amazed at what comes to your mind and heart.
"Thank you" vs. "thanks"? This question popped into my mind as I was reading one of my favorite books I have just recently started reading...The Secret. They had this topic and I was intrigued by this thought. As I looked into and took personal inventory of when I said "Thanks!" or "Thank You!" This is what I discovered. "Thanks" is more informal than saying "Thank you". Since reading this entry, I have noticed when others use either or and in which situation. I have taken notice of how it makes me feel or how the person responds to my "Thank You". Try it see if you see the difference.
